Online, a permit may be granted only for the self-distribution and brokering of lotteries, for sports and horse betting, and for the organisation and self-distribution of online casino games, virtual slot machine games and online poker. The joint gambling authority of the federal states, the GGL, acts for the Länder in granting and supervising permits for online poker and virtual slot games, online sports and horse betting, nationwide charitable lotteries, cross-state commercial gaming brokerage and class lotteries.
